Can I meet you before making a first appointment?Yes, I offer free 20 minute consultations so that you can ask me questions and see if I am a good fit for your therapeutic journey.

What type of clients do you see?I see clients with all different backgrounds, political affiliations, genders, and sexual orientations. I am feminist, antiracist and LGBTQ+ allies. Clients include individuals, couples, children, and families for trauma-informed therapy and somatic counselling. The services cater to those experiencing dyregulated nervous systems, anxiety, past traumas, and big feelings, aiming to build resilience and self-confidence through play, storytelling, and movement.

What is the difference between a virtual and in-person session?The main difference between a virtual and in-person therapy session is the mode of communication. In virtual sessions, therapy is conducted remotely through a secure online platform, offering convenience and accessibility. In contrast, in-person sessions involve face-to-face interactions in a physical setting, providing a more personal and immediate connection.

How many sessions should I expect to experience results?The number of sessions needed to experience results can vary depending on the individual stories, level of trauma and goals. I will work with you to establish a treatment pathway honouring your ideas and we check in along the way. Some clients only want a few sessions and some are more longer term.

What is the space like?There is a section on this website that has some photos of the space. The office is a quiet space a big comfy couch, natural light and privacy. For children (and adults that love to play) there is a dollhouse, sand toys, puppets and games. Tea and water are always available. ☕️ There is a washroom and an entry way. There is no waiting room.

Do you have a sliding scale or low cost sessions?Please contact me. I do always carry a few clients on a sliding scale.

Can my sessions be covered by extended medical?Registered Clinical Counsellors are covered by many extended health benefit plans, but please contact your service provider to inquire about your specific plan prior to booking any services. An official receipt will be provided after each session to be submitted for reimbursement. Clients are responsible for paying for session fees upfront.

Do you keep my information private?As a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) I am ethically and professionally obligated to keep all of your information, including your name, and status as my client, and all information discussed confidential.
